Under the motto Digital Fabrication Everywhere, the partners of the OpenLab Mobile ceremoniously opened the mobile production makerspace for Hamburg and the metropolitan region – the OpenLab Mobile – on March 28, 2023

Together with the project participants, the university president Prof. Dr. Klaus Beckmann, Prof. Dr. Jens P. Wulfs­berg, Dr. Tobias Redlich and Dr. Jürgen Glaser ceremoniously opened the truck. With the best wishes of the speakers, who especially emphasized the practicality and the future, the truck was presented to the interested university public. The public was able to see the interior of the mobile workshop and to discuss the related fields of application. There was also an opportunity to talk about the possibilities of digital manufacturing and how these can best be made accessible to the general public.

In the evening, the guests of honor at the Science Day also used the opportunity to inspect the new truck and its facilities. The guests were able to experience first-hand the concept of easy and flexible access to these technologies.

The team of Süderelbe AG and Helmut Schmidt University is very much looking forward to visiting educational institutions and companies in the Hamburg metropolitan region.
